ABOUT

MATT FRAMPTON is a singing-actor, educator, and voice pedagogue with extensive experience spanning musical theatre and contemporary commercial music contexts.

Originally from Melbourne, Australia, Matt is currently completing his Master of Music in Vocal Performance: Musical Theatre/Vocal Pedagogy at New York University. Previous studies include a Masters in Secondary Education and Bachelor of Music (Monash University). Most recently he has performed in Titanic (Charles Clarke) under the direction of Ted Sperling, with the NYU Broadway Orchestra, and worked as the Assistant Coach for the NYU Pop/Rock Ensemble.

In addition to his previous role as Head of Performing Arts at an independent secondary school, Matthew is the vocal producer of Starbound Musical Theatre, a summer intensive program connecting adolescents with professionals in the music theatre industry. In 2020, Matthew received the Australian National Excellence in Teaching Award and the Early Career Teacher’s Award (NEiTA Foundation) for his work in music education during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Matthew is currently an Adjunct Instructor of Voice at New York University. He is a full member of the Victorian Music Teacher’s Association and a registered teacher with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
